Ab diesem Monat veröffentlicht Ecas AG regelmässig Berichte, die Ihnen nützliche Einblicke in die Welt der Bauwirtschaft und Baukosten vermitteln. Wir werden in vierteljährlichen Intervalls von einem bestimmten Bauprojekt berichten und in kürzeren Intervalls Berichte zu unterschiedlichen Themen veröffentlichen.

ERSTER HINWEIS HINSICHTLICH BAUKOSTEN-BENCHMARKING
Eine oberflächliche Auswertung von Bezugswerten zu Projektkosten, welche auf primäre Benchmark-Ebenen beschränkt ist, kann oft zu einer Fehlinterpretation der Projektkosten führen. Den finanziellen Erfolg eines Projekts auf der Grundlage makroelementarer Daten extern zu bewerten, kann natürlich sehr schwierig sein.
Wie der Ökonom Ronald Coase einmal sagte: “Wenn Sie die Daten lange genug quälen, werden sie alles gestehen” oder, wie unser CEO David J. Duffy zu sagen pflegt: “Wenn Sie die Benchmarks sanft und auf die richtige Weise massieren, dann wird die wahre Geschichte hervortreten”.

Starting this month Ecas AG will be posting regular bulletins that will give you useful insights into the world of construction economics and construction costs. We will post a quarterly bulletin featuring a specific construction project as well as other intermittent bulletins on various issues.

Our bulletins will be placed on our website and on LinkedIn. If, however, you wish to send your email address to info@ecas.ch requesting that the bulletins be sent to you directly, that will enable us to ensure that you personally receive our data on your own inbox. In doing so, you will also be added to our ecas benchmarks © address data base, thus automatically entitling you to complimentary construction economics advice. All of our bulletins are obtainable absolutely free of charge.

AN EARLY OBSERVATION IN RESPECT OF CONSTRUCTION COST BENCHMARKING
A superficial examination of project cost benchmarks, when limited to primary benchmark level, can often lead to a misinterpretation of project costs. Of course, externally assessing a project’s financial success based on macro elemental data can be difficult, however, as economist Ronald Coase once said “if you torture the data long enough it will confess to anything” or, as our own CEO tends to say “if you gently massage the benchmarks in the right way, then the true story will begin to emerge”.
